After Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's teenage daughter Shiloh Jolie officially dropped her father's famous last name on Monday, Pitt was spotted over the weekend heading to meet his Hollywood best friend George Clooney, we heard.

Spies told Page Six they saw Pitt arrive in Milan on a private jet – and according to our source, the “Fight Club” star was overheard telling a private receptionist at Linate Airport that he was “on his way to Lake Como to visit Clooney and his wife Amal.”

The insider added that the star was alone and without his girlfriend Ines de Ramon and that Pitt, 60, “wore a beige bucket hat, aviator sunglasses, a dark blue casual jacket, blue jeans and sneakers.”

The star was reportedly accompanied by “a team of security guards” as he “rushed through passport control and practically jogged past the passersby who had gathered to see him.”

“One of the security guards approached several groups of people hanging around and asked, 'Are you all supposed to be here?'” we hear, as “Pitt ran past and crashed into a waiting Range Rover.”

Apparently a black Mercedes station wagon followed him, and “within a few minutes he came and went,” the spy said.

“Brad Pitt is a ghost!” joked the impressed jetsetter, who had landed before the star on a private flight.

Pitt and Clooney, 63, recently appeared together on the cover of GQ for a story titled “George Clooney and Brad Pitt Are Hollywood's Best Friends.”

The GQ article stated: “They spent three decades living intertwined lives at the impossibly glamorous height of Hollywood. Now, in their 60s, they can drop bombs, dispense hard-won wisdom and, yes, argue about who had the prettier mullet in the '80s.”

Clooney owns a 25-bedroom villa on Lake Como after combining two properties in the chic area. Pitt owns his own French estate, Château Miraval, which is at the centre of his divorce battle with Jolie.

A spokesman for Pitt declined to comment.
