EastEnders confirms dangerous crush with tragic consequences

EastEnders has confirmed that there will be a dangerous crush at Peggy's next week, with tragic consequences for Albert Square.

Last month, Chelsea was demoted from her manager position at Peggy's and Penny quickly snatched her job, causing tension between the two.

In scenes to be broadcast next week, the square is bustling after last weekend's London Carnival celebrations, but the partying continues in Walford.

Penny has organised a club night at Peggy's, but it's obvious she hasn't prepared enough as she tries to sell some last-minute tickets before the Vic.

She has a frosty exchange with Chelsea at work, and Chelsea decides to sabotage her new boss's big night.

Chelsea manipulates the booking system and makes more tickets available online even though the event is already almost at capacity.

Penny, unaware of what Chelsea has done, continues to bring more customers into the party while Avani convinces Amy and Nugget to crash the party.

At Peggy's, things quickly spiral out of control and the night becomes dangerous as the club becomes increasingly crowded.

Meanwhile, Junior asks Cindy to accompany him to Peggy's, with the couple taking greater and greater risks as the affair progresses.

But their betrayal threatens to be exposed when Ian arrives at the club. He has returned from America, where he tried to help Ben.

Hoping not to be discovered, Junior and Cindy hide in the office, where they quickly get carried away – without knowing what is going on outside.

If there are too many people in the club, dangerous crowds will arise and the residents of Walford will also be drawn into the chaos.

Otherwise, Jack is not having a good day because Kim lets him know that Denise has started finalizing the divorce proceedings.

But this soon pales in comparison when he later arrives at Peggy's and discovers the consequences of the crush – and what he sees leaves him disturbed.

Later, Chelsea becomes concerned when she is questioned by police about her role in the tragic events and feels guilty about the consequences of her actions.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One. The show is also available to stream on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes are available as early as 6am before they air on TV.
