  • Human remains were found on the banks of Brooklyn Bridge Park

A city parks officer found the remains – a skull and some bones believed to be human – on the shore of Brooklyn Bridge Park near Dock Street around 8:45 a.m. Monday, the New York Daily News reports.

The gruesome discovery was made just a few meters from the famous Jane's Carousel, which was built in 1922 and donated to the park in 2011 after years of restoration.

It was also not far from the building that housed Time Out Market, so residents could watch as police combed the area and dive teams searched the waters for more remains.
