Will Beyoncé perform at the DNC? Video fuels speculation – NBC Chicago

Editor's Note: NBC Chicago offers a live feed of the evening and primetime speeches every day Monday through Thursday in the player above and on the 24/7 streaming channel NBC 5 Chicago News.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago will feature several big names and celebrities, but some fans are wondering if Beyoncé or Taylor Swift could surprise everyone with a performance.

These speculations intensified when Vice President Kamala Harris took the stage at the United Center in Chicago to the tune of Beyoncé's “Freedom,” surprising the convention with an early speech before her scheduled addresses on Thursday. (Watch the moment Here)

Political appearances are nothing new for Queen Bey: she has already performed at former President Barack Obama's inauguration ball and sang the Star Spangled Banner again at Obama's inauguration in 2013.

Many have noticed that there don't seem to be any appearances that would stand in the way of a possible appearance at the DNC.

Some spectators were also spotted on Monday wearing “Cowboy Kamala” sashes, a reference to Beyoncé’s latest album “Cowboy Carter.”

But the Swifties have also taken notes on scheduling.

Swift has concerts scheduled at London's Wembley Stadium for Monday and Tuesday, but another performance is not planned until November when she returns to North America.

Some believe that she could theoretically put in a quick, strong showing for the second half of the convention in Chicago.

Swift has typically steered clear of political endorsements, but questions have arisen about whether she would run for president. Those questions gained momentum after Trump began posting AI-generated images of Swift and her fans, falsely suggesting he deserved the singer's support.

Numerous celebrity appearances have already been confirmed.

The first day of the convention featured performances by country artist Mickey Guyton, singer-songwriter Jason Isbell and legendary musician James Taylor.

Some big names will be spectators, while others will play a central role in the congress.

NBC News has also obtained a list of the convention's entertainment hosts – actresses, a commentator and a singer – who will open the festivities each night.

Below you will find the entertainment presenters and details of which night they will be on stage:

Monday: Tony Goldwyn – actor and singer

Tuesday: Ana Navarro – political commentator

Wednesday: Mindy Kaling – actress and comedian

Thursday: Kerry Washington – Actress
