1 teenager dead, 3 arrested after shooting in Spring Hill over the weekend: HCSO

Three teenagers have been charged following a fatal shooting in Spring Hill over the weekend.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said 18-year-old Tarian Rush is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. The other two juveniles arrested are charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.

Officers said they went to the Publix at Mariner Commons in Spring Hill after receiving reports of a shooting. When they got there, they found several victims around a vehicle parked near the Publix, according to investigators.

Five teenagers were in a vehicle heading to Publix after a shooting at Mariner Cay's Apartments, located at the corner of Mariner Boulevard and Northcliffe Boulevard. Authorities believe the teens were shot as they entered the apartment complex, but they immediately drove away.

According to HCSO, at least one of the teens went to Publix to get help.

Three of the five teenagers in the vehicle were struck by gunfire. Officials said a 16-year-old was taken to a local hospital after the shooting and later died from his injuries. A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old were also taken to the hospital but are expected to make a full recovery.

The juvenile suspects were later found in an apartment on Mariner's Cay.

Officials believed the reason for the shooting was an ongoing feud between several teenagers who had recently been fighting.

Rush, an adult, is being held without bail at the Hernando County Detention Center, officials said. The other two juveniles arrested were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Ocala, where they are also being held without bail.
