Two dead after ‘isolated incident’ in North Andover home, prosecutor says

According to the Essex County District Attorney's Office, two people were killed in an “isolated incident” at a home in North Andover on Monday.

Emergency crews called to a home on Turnpike Street found the two victims, one of whom was pronounced dead and another with serious injuries, the Essex District Attorney's Office said. The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, the prosecutor's office said shortly before 9 p.m.

Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker said the incident was confined to a private residence and there was no danger to the public.

North Andover Police, Massachusetts State Police and the Essex County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident.

People who live and work in the area told Boston 25 they have seen police officers at the house for the past two weeks. They say whatever happened, it is disturbing.

“It's scary. It's scary to experience this in a town like North Andover. It just shows you where you live. It doesn't matter where you live. This kind of thing can happen anywhere,” Katrina MacLean told Boston 25.

Everyone says they are shocked by the large police presence in this normally quiet city.

“Yes, I would say in general. It's a safe community, I've lived here my whole life,” she said.

The two deaths have shocked people in the city.

“I think I really don't know. I think I really don't understand,” MacLean said.

Neighbors also say that ambulances and police have been called to the house several times in recent years.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., several patrol cars and emergency vehicles were seen surrounding the one-story house. The house and front yard were cordoned off with yellow tape.

Residents are asked to stay away from the scene of the accident while authorities investigate.

The Essex County District Attorney's Office is not expected to release any further information until Tuesday.
