Another teen killed in downtown shooting, APD also confirms 3 dead in separate incident

It was a violent weekend with 5 murders. Albuquerque Police updated two cases from this weekend.

We start with the downtown homicide. The victim has been identified as 13-year-old Michael Tubb, who was a passenger in a vehicle when he was shot multiple times and died at the scene. A 17-year-old passenger was struck in the ankle by bullet fragments and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The 17-year-old driver was not injured.

The victims were shot at an intersection south of downtown. They were traveling north after the shooting and were involved in an accident with another vehicle in the area of ​​Gold Ave. and 5th.th St., SW Police were a few blocks away and were stopped for the accident. They discovered the two victims with gunshot wounds, attempted first aid and called AFR for assistance.

Downtown Albuquerque is a hotbed of violence against youth, including murder and aggravated assault.

We reported on three deaths in the 900 block of Alvarado Dr., SE on Sunday. APD said officers found three adults suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators are investigating the deaths as a possible double homicide followed by suicide by the perpetrator. Investigators are in the process of identifying the individuals and notifying next of kin.
