Actor Michael Madsen arrested for domestic violence

US actor Michael Madsen was arrested on Saturday for domestic violence, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

In a statement sent to the BBC, it said its officers responded to an incident of “family disturbance” shortly after midnight in the Californian city of Malibu.

The authority said a woman claimed that her husband had pushed her and locked her out of their shared apartment.

Madsen, who starred in Quentin Tarantino's films Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, was later released on $20,000 (£15,400) bail. The 66-year-old has not commented publicly on the matter.

“The investigation is ongoing and will be forwarded to the Van Nuys Superior Court House for filing,” the sheriff's office said.

No further details were given in the statement.

A spokesperson for Madsen said in a statement to the website Variety: “This was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope will be resolved positively for both of them.”

Michael Madsen and DeAnna Madsen have been married for 28 years.

Madsen is best known for his roles as psychopath Mr. Blonde in “Reservoir Dogs” and murderer Budd in “Kill Bill: Volume 2”.
