Apple Music free trial available again for three months if you sign up now

If you've never tried the service before, you can now try Apple Music for free for three months (instead of just one month).

This is the same offer the company made when it launched the music streaming service, but later reduced it to one month…

Free trial of Apple Music

When Apple Music launched back in the day, the company offered a generous three-month free trial, as opposed to the one month that Spotify and other services offered at the time.

The company briefly experimented with charging a very small fee for those three months in some countries, but apparently abandoned that idea.

However, in 2022, the test phase was shortened to one month and the change applies worldwide.

Three-month trial period for a limited time

Engadget discovered that the company is once again offering a three-month free trial for those who have never tried the service before.

Until September 23, anyone using Apple's music streaming service for the first time can try it out for free for three months. The offer only applies to first-time subscribers.

To take advantage of the offer, open the Apple Music app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac and accept the free trial offer. Unfortunately, it is not available to people who have previously had access to the service, even if it was through a family plan.

As always with auto-renewing free trials, it's worth putting a note in your calendar a few days before the trial expires and reconsidering your decision. This way you can avoid accidentally ending up paying for a service you don't necessarily want to keep.

Look out for more offers

Other Apple Music deals are often available, even directly from Apple or through partners. You may get longer free trials when you buy Beats products or sign up as a student or veteran, for example. Apple Music is also sometimes bundled with mobile plans.
