13-year-old boy gets into trouble for having sex with 5-year-old neighbor's daughter

A 13-year-old boy has landed in trouble when he was arrested in Lagos State for allegedly having sex with a neighbour's 5-year-old daughter.

PMEXPRESS reports that the incident occurred at Folaranmi Street, near K&S Bus Stop in Abaranje area of ​​Ikotun, Lagos, where they reside.

According to police, the boy allegedly lured the victim to a location, took off her pants and then removed her private parts before they were caught and the victim's parents received the information.

The incident was reported to the police in Ikotun District. The boy was arrested and detained at the station for questioning over his alleged conduct.

During questioning, the boy is said to have admitted to having done this, but was unable to penetrate her intimate area.

The victim’s parents insisted that the police press charges against him and he was subsequently arraigned before the Ogba Magistrate’s Court for the alleged offence.

However, the court did not accept his plea when he was produced in court. Public prosecutor Supol Akeem Raji had requested that the matter be referred to the public prosecutor, who sought his legal advice, due to the nature of the offence he was charged with.

The presiding judge, Mrs BO Osunsanmi, ordered that he be remanded in a detention centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s deliberation and directed the prosecutor to copy the file and send it to the DPP.

The case has been adjourned to allow for the advisory report of the Crown Prosecutor, who will decide whether or not the case will be referred to the High Court.
