BritBox is preparing to give viewers new puzzles to solve with its upcoming crime thriller passenger. A trailer released today lifts the curtain on the series, which is set in the fictional small northern town of Chadder Vale, where a series of bizarre crimes has everyone in the close-knit community on edge. It's up to a former Metropolitan Police detective, played by a BAFTA-winning Wunmi Mosakuto find out what exactly is going on with the unassuming little town. With the footage, BritBox also shared that the first two episodes will be available to stream on October 17, followed by two more episodes every Thursday.

The trailer immediately tells of two girls who have disappeared in the Chadder Vale area. One, Katie Wells (Robert Robinson), mysteriously reappears once she vanished, raising even more questions in Riya Ajunwa (Mosaku), who has only lived in the town for five years. However, the locals barely notice the strange occurrence and are quick to dismiss Riya's questions about the connection between other disappearances and crimes. From an ominous cage to the return of a known criminal to “accidents” involving local children, the town feels cursed to anyone who isn't a deep-rooted citizen. As things get stranger and stranger, Citizens resort to convenient conspiracy theories and vehemently oppose Riya’s investigationwhich makes it even more difficult and important for them to find answers.
