Kirby Smart updates Georgia's injury report as Bulldogs turn their attention to Clemson

ATHENS — The Bulldogs' fall training camp is over. The team will turn its attention to Clemson later this week. And Georgia head coach Kirby Smart provided a detailed update on the Bulldogs' injury situation.

Georgia held its second practice game last Saturday.

Running back Roderick Robinson had previously struggled with a toe injury that Smart described as turf toe.

“Roderick is dealing with a minor turf toe injury and we don't know when he will be ready to play again,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said.

At the wide receiver position, Colbie Young is battling a hamstring injury. Young is expected to play a major role in the wide receiver rotation this fall, although Dillon Bell is expected to be the team's starting X wide receiver.

Center Jared Wilson is battling an Achilles tendon injury but was a full participant in Georgia's practice game on Saturday.

On the defensive line, Warren Brinson has made progress while recovering from an Achilles injury. But he's not the only defensive lineman currently dealing with an injury. Jordan Hall has stress fractures in both legs and is not expected to be available for Georgia's game against Clemson.

Smart added that Xzavier McLeod is also dealing with an unspecified injury, further affecting the depth of Georgia's defensive line. Smart did not know when McLeod would return.

Linebacker Smael Mondon trained despite a foot injury but participated fully in practice.

Smart was also asked if there would be possible suspensions. The Georgia coach said that any suspensions would be handled internally.

The Bulldogs open the 2024 season on August 31 against Clemson. The game begins at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will be broadcast by ABC.
