Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight: date, prelims, rumors, rules, odds, start time, location, full guide

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is truly a real event. Netflix is entering the fight scene for the first time and presenting the bizarre boxing crossover.

Paul, 27, and Tyson, 57, will face off in an exhibition match on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will be streamed worldwide by Netflix, but there is no PPV prize. Tyson's legend and vast experience make him a modest underdog. What Paul lacks in longevity, he should make up for with youth, commitment and a skilled team behind him.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place on July 20, but Tyson experienced health problems due to an ulcer, so the date had to be postponed.

“I'm very well prepared,” Tyson said recently at a press conference to promote the fight. “I had a little misfortune. I was sick, but I feel good.” […] I'm just ready. I'm just ready. I'm going to talk my talk and talk my shit, but I'm ready to fight.”

The fight will also be an officially sanctioned fight by the Texas Commission. The fight will consist of eight rounds of two minutes each with slightly larger gloves than usual.

Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) is fully committed to boxing. The YouTuber started boxing against other social media stars before moving on to UFC fighters and champions to test the sweet science. Paul has recently taken a detour, moving away from wins against older, smaller MMA fighters like Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz and taking the more traditional route of his development. In the lead-up to the Tyson announcement, Paul scored consecutive KO wins against club-level boxers.

“People are yelling at me at the event, but what happens if I put this man down?” Paul said at the press conference. “He says it's going to be my funeral. He says it's going to be my wake. He's going to kill Jake Paul. All of those things, and that's why I love Mike. I respect him, but we're not friends anymore by November 15th. I'm knocking this motherfucker down and we'll see who's dead.”

Tyson (50-6-2 NC, 44 KOs) has not boxed publicly since his drawn exhibition fight against fellow legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. It is often said that strength is the last thing to go missing, and “Iron” Mike will need it against an opponent 30 years younger. The former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion is one of the all-time greats with wins over Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks.

The supporting bill will feature a fantastic rematch, with Katie Taylor putting her undisputed super lightweight titles on the line against Amanda Serrano. The two women were the first to headline an event at Madison Square Garden in April 2022, where Taylor retained her undisputed lightweight titles via split decision. Now the two will clash in a weight class after Taylor defeated Chantelle Cameron by majority decision to win the titles in November.

While the fight between Taylor and Serrano is confirmed for the new date, the organizers have not yet said whether the other two fights will also be postponed. However, a fight between Brazilian YouTuber Whindersson Nunes and professional boxer Neeraj Goyat is planned for the event.
