Man faces trial in January after serious drug raid in Hall County

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska (KSNB) – A man is scheduled to go on trial in January after eight different illegal substances were discovered in a June drug raid in a motel room near Interstate 80 in Hall County.

According to court documents, 46-year-old Jeramy Elrod was arrested in June after investigators discovered 38 grams of methamphetamine, 9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 17 grams of marijuana, 1 gram of heroin and an assortment of prescription drugs, including lorazepam, hydrocodone/acetaminophen, alprazolam and Xanax.

In addition to the drugs, authorities also seized a stolen 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck, a stolen Ruger 9mm pistol, a Ruger 10/22 rifle and various drug paraphernalia.

Elrod is charged with 10 felonies, including drug possession, drug trafficking, weapons and theft. A judge set a trial date for the case on Jan. 6. Elrod is free on $100,000 bail.

The reading of the charges is scheduled for September 3. At the reading of the charges, a suspect usually pleads guilty or not guilty to the charges against him.

Police also arrested Lacey Randall, 34, of Aurora, and Austin Renschler, 32, of Hastings. Both are accused of the same crimes as Elrod, and both are scheduled to go to trial on Nov. 4. Randall is free on $50,000 bail and Renschler is free on $25,000 bail.

No address for Elrod was listed in court documents.
