Man with bleeding head and companion arrested at Miami airport for refusing to leave plane

MIAMI DADE COUNTY, Florida. – A man and a woman were arrested at Miami International Airport on Tuesday after boarding an American Airlines flight to Las Vegas, authorities confirmed.

According to the suspects' arrest reports, flight crew noticed that Eugenio Ernesto Hernandez-Garnier (27) from Las Vegas was bleeding from his forehead and his wound was covered with a bloody bandage.

Miami-Dade police said Hernandez-Garnier was asked to wipe off the blood and change his bandages, but he did not have any clean bandages with him.

According to reports, crew members then asked him several times to leave the plane because they were concerned about his health and possible contamination of his bodily fluids.

According to police, Hernandez-Garnier and his traveling companion Yusleydis Blanca Loyola (32), also from Las Vegas, refused to leave the plane. They said: “If they can't fly, no one else can either.”

According to arrest reports, police officers at the airport responded to the situation and again asked Hernandez-Garnier and Loyola to leave the building, but they again refused.

Police said they had been told that they would face arrest for trespassing after being warned, but they still refused to leave the plane.

“After briefly resisting being handcuffed, they were subsequently arrested,” the reports say.

According to police, the couple's behavior also forced all other passengers to leave the plane, which led to a delay in the flight.

Both suspects were taken to Jackson West for processing before being transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, authorities said.

Both of them are accused of trespassing despite a warning and resisting an officer without the use of violence.
