Man killed in car crash in Tucson

TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – A man was killed in a car crash in Tucson on August 18.

Officers with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Vail District, responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash at 5:09 p.m. at South Old Spanish Trail and East Saguaro Crest Place.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the driver, 42-year-old Adrian Barnes, dead in the vehicle.

Preliminary findings indicate that Barnes was traveling north on the Old Spanish Trail, approaching Saguaro Crest Place, when his vehicle left the road and went down an embankment.

According to PCSD, Barnes was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision.

According to authorities, neither speed nor impairment are likely to have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather additional details
