Government strengthens security in hospitals after tragic death of doctor

Hospitals should also set up a control room to respond quickly in case of an emergency, including having administrative staff and security guards on standby.

The ministry stressed that hospital staff must be regularly trained to identify and effectively address potential security threats. This proactive approach is intended to ensure the safety of medical staff, who are often at risk simply by doing their job.

Meanwhile, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna has taken immediate action and installed 200 CCTV cameras across the campus. Along with these measures, proposals for additional toilets for women employees have also been approved, highlighting the hospital's commitment to the welfare of its employees.

Protests continued across the country as junior doctors demanded justice for their murdered colleague and expressed their overwhelming frustration over perceived inadequacies in the health system's security. Health professionals from various regions, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, joined in, shutting down regular services as they collectively demonstrated for their cause.
