Body language expert says Meghan Markle reminded him of another famous royal this week (and it wasn't the one I expected)

Meghan Markle's Colombia trip was full of sweet moments and pleasant surprises. For example, the Duchess and her husband Prince Harry proved they have top-notch salsa dancing skills. And during her visit to Colegio La Giralda, Markle paid a loving tribute to her son Archie. Not to mention her outstanding fashion choices, which included a special nod to Princess Diana.

However, there is one important detail that I almost missed – and it has everything to do with Markle's outfits. Body language expert Darren Stanton analyzed the Queen's demeanor during her South American tour and noticed an interesting parallel between her style and that of Queen Camilla.

You may recall that the Duchess has appeared in an all-white ensemble on several occasions, such as her white shirt and hand-embroidered midi skirt at Unidad Recreativa El Vallado or her white blouse and patterned white skirt at the Inclusive Rehabilitation Center. According to Stanton, she may have taken a cue from the Queen, who often wears this color to major events. (Remember her white dress at the women's singles quarterfinals at Wimbledon last month?)

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Roulette, he said: “She wore white and could have been inspired by Queen Camilla, who often chooses white for engagements.”

He continued: “The colour white attracts positive energy and calm, but it is also a statement. Meghan has proven that she feels confident, competent and assertive.”

That's completely understandable, considering how calm and confident both royals carry themselves. But Markle's subtle homage to the Queen wasn't the only thing that caught Stanton's eye. During her appearance at the Afro Women and Power panel (where she also wore white), her body language revealed that she was completely “relaxed.”

He explains: “When we saw Meghan speak on the podium, she seemed calm and composed, but at the same time completely authentic. This was probably the most honest and open performance we have seen from Meghan in a long time. Her body language and facial expressions were consistent the whole time. We saw a very confident side of Meghan, as she showed no signs of hesitation or tension.”

Stanton added: “Meghan feels at home on this stage. She speaks so openly. When we analyze her tone, it is firm, consistent and deep. It doesn't change too much, which tells us she is comfortable and relaxed.”

Unwavering self-confidence and white outfits? The Queen would approve of that without reservation.
