The maid of “RHODubai” star Sara Al Madani ends up in prison for kidnapping and ransom demand

From Jen Shah’s arrest by the government to Vicki Gunvalson’s ex-boyfriend faking cancer, the Real Housewives Universe has seen many crazy things. But a ransom plan involving a child is certainly new territory for the franchise. In today's episode of The Real Housewives of Dubai, Star Sara Al Madani recalls the horrifying moment when she learned that her housekeeper was allegedly involved with men who wanted to kidnap her seven-year-old son, Maktoum.

When Al Madani returned from the cast trip to Bali, she discovered that her housekeeper had been covering her security cameras for the “last six months” and bringing “several men” to her house asking for photos of her and her son. The situation only escalated when she read the WhatsApp messages between her former employee and the men she had invited.

“There are texts from men commenting on my son's pictures and saying, 'Oh my God, he's cute. We love his hair. We love his skin.' And these men asked them, 'When is he coming home? Who is waiting for him? Do you have money?'” explains Al Madani. “I mean, all these questions point to one thing: kidnapping, ransom.”

Al Madani tells the former Real Housewives of Dubai Star Nina Ali, who makes a cameo appearance in the episode, said she fired her maid immediately when she made the discovery. “But then I go into her room while she's packing and I see my things, my gold necklace, my mother's earrings,” Al Madani says, while Maktoum notes that the maid had also taken his mother's underwear.

The spiritual healer then explains why she spoke openly about the situation with her “traumatized” son.

“He has trouble sleeping at night. He doesn't like being alone. He doesn't even go to the bathroom alone,” she says. “But I had to disclose all the details because the police had to ask him: 'Did men come into the house? Did men try to touch you? Did men talk to you?' I had no choice but to disclose everything.”

At the time this episode was filmed, Al Madani was busy with a court case against the maid, who had been arrested and thrown into prison after she filed charges.

“When I realized that my son's life and safety were at stake, I was completely beside myself. I just thought: no mercy,” says Al Madani. “I will not drop any charges. Because if I let her go, she will do this to another family.”

The Real Housewives of Dubai airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. New episodes can be streamed the next day on Peacock.
