Warren police investigate ‘suspicious’ death

Warren police are investigating what they believe to be the suspicious death of a man found in his home Thursday night, Lt. John Gajewski said.

On Tuesday around 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 11000 block of Hanover Drive, Gajewski said. They were responding to reports of an unconscious person found near an aquarium, Gajewski said.

Police and firefighters said a 39-year-old male resident of the home was found dead. The circumstances of the death are “suspicious” and detectives are investigating, Gajewski said.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but police believe there is no danger to the public, Gajewski said.

“The Macomb County Coroner's Office will be conducting an autopsy that will hopefully shed more light on the circumstances of this incident,” Gajewski said. “…I can confirm that the man was found dead near an aquarium, but further details have not been determined. We are still trying to figure out the what, the why and the how.”
