Governor KP contacts Pakistani Ambassador to Iran and expresses his grief over the tragic bus accident

PESHAWAR, Aug 21 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday expressed grief and regret over the road accident in Iran's Yazd city in which 28 Pakistani nationals lost their lives and 23 persons were injured.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has contacted Pakistani Ambassador Muhammad Mudassar Tipu in Iran regarding the tragic bus accident in Yazd.

The governor stressed that all possible help must be provided to the victims.

Ambassador Tipu assured that every effort would be made to assist the affected persons, although the accident site was 700 kilometers away from the consulate, Governor Kundi said.

He said the Pakistani ambassador was personally overseeing the relief efforts.

Governor Kundi expressed his deep sadness over the death of the Pakistani pilgrims in Yazd.

He said President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed his deep sadness over the incident and instructed the Sindh government to immediately contact the families of the victims.

The affected people are from Larkana and the government will provide comprehensive support to their families, he said.

He said President Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had issued special instructions for the repatriation of the bodies. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had immediately contacted the Iranian authorities in response to the accident.

Governor Kundi prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressed his solidarity with the grieving families.

He also welcomed the Iranian authorities' commitment to provide the greatest possible support.
