Ithaca police investigating alleged attack as hate crime – Finger Lakes Daily News

Ithaca police are investigating an alleged attack that occurred last weekend as a hate crime.

The suspect allegedly dismounted from a wide-tire bicycle in the 100 block of Cascadilla Street and physically assaulted his victim, who he did not know. Additionally, the suspect allegedly made derogatory comments about the victim's gender identity during the attack on Saturday afternoon, leading authorities to investigate this incident as a hate crime.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s to early 30s with curly black hair. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants and a light-colored T-shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
