Vikings reporter gives update on Jordan Addison injury

It looks like the Minnesota Vikings will be without wide receiver Jordan Addison for the next week or two, which could potentially cause him to miss the season opener against the New York Giants.

According to Darren Wolfson, Vikings reporter for SKOR North, Addison is dealing with a “pretty bad ankle sprain that will set him back for at least another week or two.” That timeline raises the question of whether Addison will be available for the season opener on Sept. 8 against the Giants.

Wolfson clarified that he expects Addison to return to training by the Wednesday before the opening match at the latest and should be available for the game. However, he cautions that this type of injury usually takes weeks to heal and that Addison may not be 100% fit for the game.

This message follows Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell, who told the media last Thursday that Addison had “avoided a serious injury” and that the young receiver be fine and not absent for a long period of time.

Wolfson did not elaborate on the nature of the ankle injury Addison sustained during practice with the Cleveland Browns, but said he believed it could be something along the lines of a severe ankle sprain.
