Medical emergency leads to fatal accident in Lexington Park

LEXINGTON PARK, Maryland. – On August 20, 2024, at approximately 10:07 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on Forest Parks Road near Three Notch Road.

When the emergency services arrived, they found a vehicle that had left the road and ended up in a wooded area. The driver was unconscious at the scene of the accident and was immediately treated by emergency services.

Despite their efforts, which included performing CPR during transport, the driver was pronounced dead upon arrival at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by a medical condition that led to the unfortunate and untimely death of the driver. Authorities are keeping the identity of the deceased secret until next of kin are notified.
