Dayton man faces multiple weapons and drug charges

A Dayton man is behind bars for multiple weapons and drug offenses.

According to authorities, 30-year-old Charles Robert Williams was identified as a suspect in a felony fleeing case in February 2024 after he posted a video he made himself while being pursued by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) on social media. Williams was later identified as a suspect in a felony theft of a firearm case after he again posted a video of himself in possession of the stolen firearm on social media. Williams is also a former felon and is prohibited from owning or carrying firearms.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit obtained and executed a search warrant for Williams' residence on August 19. During the search, investigators found numerous dangerous weapons, including brass knuckles, a stun gun, a stolen handgun, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

On August 20, Williams was located and arrested by detectives. He was booked into the Lyon County Jail on the following charges:

  • Former felon in possession of a firearm
  • Aggravated theft of a firearm
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of an electric shock device by a former offender
  • Serious crime: fleeing from a peace officer
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon (2 counts)
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

His bail was set at $133,640.
