Home and Away Viewers have praised a powerful scene featuring Tane Parata in the Australian soap opera's tragic death arc, which airs this week.

Felicity Newman died after losing consciousness at a party. Her family learned that she was suffering from a brain aneurysm and was essentially brain dead, so they made the difficult decision to turn off life support.

After her death, Tane processed his grief by performing the haka, the traditional Māori dance performed at various occasions, including funerals. He let his emotions flow through his body, with each stomp of his feet and pounding of his chest channeling his chaotic emotions.

And fans were very moved by it, praising both the continued inclusion of Māori culture in the soap opera and the performance of actor Ethan Browne. The official Home and Away The Instagram account shared the scene and viewers took the opportunity to comment on how much they liked it.

“I can't put into words how this made me feel,” said one fan. “Sad, grateful and just emotional. Thank you for putting your heart and soul into [sic] on the big screen to deliver an incredible tradition and insight into Māori culture. Truly [sic] heart-rending.”

“Oh dear, that is heartbreaking. Well played [Ethan Browne] You should be really proud of this work,” commented another, while a third said: “I really like this, give me more!”
