Joshua McPherson will be remembered for his ‘vibrant personality’ after the fatal accident in Ludlow

Joshua “Josh” McPherson, 34, of West Springfield is being remembered for his “vivacious personality” after his death in a car crash on I-90 in Ludlow earlier this month.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. on August 10, when a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Belchertown resident Nicole Deren collided with a van driven by McPherson, forcing the van off the road. McPherson was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, and Deren was arrested about three-quarters of a mile from the accident scene.

Deren was charged with intoxicated manslaughter, intoxicated manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and intoxicated manslaughter in connection with the accident, according to the Hampden County District Attorney's Office.
