Cause of death of Chris Pratt's stunt double Tony McFarr announced

Tony McFarr, a stuntman who is best known as a double for actor Chris Pratt in blockbusters such as Jurassic World And Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2died as a result of an irregular heartbeat caused by a problem with his heart valves, the Orange County, Florida, coroner's office confirmed to Deadline.

The medical examiner's office ruled that McFarr likely died of cardiac arrhythmias caused by mitral valve regurgitation, which was the result of an accident. Contributing factors include alcohol poisoning and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a common lung disease that causes narrowing of the airways and difficulty breathing.

McFarr was found dead in his Florida home outside Orlando on May 13. He was 47 years old.

McFarr began his career as an uncredited stunt double for Geoff Stults on Bones in 2011. He appeared as a stunt double in the films Rock of Ages, Teen Wolf, The Glades, Burn Notice and in 2014 The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 1.

In 2015, McFarr doubled for Pratt in Jurassic Worldthe beginning of a collaboration and friendship that lasted until Law Sequels and Passengers.

He reportedly suffered during the filming of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 in 2017. He also had half a dozen small acting roles in episodes of One Tree Hill, Burn Notice, Army Wives And MacGyver.
