A Henrico man was sentenced to 27 years in prison on Aug. 16 for selling fentanyl to police officers in three separate transactions in 2022 while also being in possession of multiple firearms, prosecutors said.

Jason Dominic Coley, 38, was arrested on March 22, 2022, after investigators found 13.8 ounces of fentanyl in his home, along with two semi-automatic handguns, a semi-automatic rifle, 13.8 ounces of fentanyl and 4.3 ounces of cocaine. He was also found in possession of another .45 caliber pistol and more than $16,000 in another home also associated with him.

Richmond police officers conducted three controlled fentanyl purchases from Coley between February 10 and March 3, 2022. Coley had previously been convicted of federal crimes, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm or ammunition.

According to court documents, Coley admitted to purchasing about two kilograms of fentanyl in California for distribution in the Richmond area.

Coley was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.
