EastEnders spoilers – Maya leaves the show after the tragic Harvey accident

EastEnders Spoilers follow.

EastEnders broadcast Maya Houssain’s exit after Harvey Monroe’s tragic accident.

Earlier this week, Harvey narrowly escaped tragedy when he fell asleep in a hot car with baby Charli Slater in the back seat. Although the baby was ultimately OK, doctors warned Lily Slater that Charli could have died if she had been left there much longer.

In Wednesday's episode (August 21), Harvey was forced to come clean to his girlfriend Jean Slater about working overtime to give Maya money.

Viewers know that Maya's husband Abdul is the man Harvey's right-wing extremist son Aaron tried to murder several years ago.

Jean was devastated by her partner's lies and Harvey later met with Maya to explain that Charli almost died because he overworked himself.

Maya was so devastated by how close they had come to tragedy that she decided it was best to cut off all contact with Harvey immediately.

“I came here to look for you because I was angry. I'm not angry anymore and that's because of you,” she assured Harvey.

Harvey was relieved that the story with Maya was now completely behind him, but his partner Jean was not ready to simply move on after his many lies.

Jean confessed to Harvey that she wasn't sure if their relationship could survive because she no longer trusted him.

“I don't think there's a 'you and me' anymore, Harvey,” she said sadly.

Former Doctors Actress Bharti Patel first appeared on screens earlier this summer, with Maya introduced as Harvey's new girlfriend. However, it was later revealed that Maya had deliberately started getting close to Harvey years ago to seek revenge for Aaron's extremism.
