Former CHP officer arrested for insurance fraud and theft

QUINCY, Calif. (KOLO) – A former CHP officer has been arrested for insurance fraud and theft.

Jordan Lester, 44, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Making a false declaration to fraudulently obtain compensation
  • Submitting a false statement regarding an insurance claim or benefit
  • Concealment or non-disclosure of events affecting performance
  • perjury
  • Providing false information to the DMV or CHP

Lester was arrested in Quincy and taken to the Plumas County Jail.

According to the CHP, Lester filed a claim for work injury compensation on July 12, 2021, and was given sick leave by his doctor in January 2022. While he was on sick leave, the Work Injury Fraud Investigation Unit received a tip and opened an investigation into Lester, according to the CHP.

Police said the investigation revealed that Lester allegedly committed compensation fraud by engaging in activities that were inconsistent with the restrictions and limitations imposed by medical providers.

According to the CHP, Lester committed perjury and made false statements to the DMV when he fraudulently misrepresented the purchase price of a car.
