The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by the London KSP Post to continue the investigation into the fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday night in Pulaski County involving a Lancaster Police Department vehicle.

The KSP also announced on Tuesday that it is asking for the public's assistance in this investigation.

The London Post was contacted shortly before 11:45 p.m. Saturday about a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 27 near Old Norwood Road in the Science Hill community of Pulaski County involving an off-duty Lancaster Police Department officer.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Dodge Durango police vehicle driven by Officer Derrick A. Glover, 31, of Nancy, was traveling south on US 27 when his vehicle collided with the rear of a red Coleman 196cc off-road motorcycle driven by a juvenile who was not wearing a helmet.

As a result of the collision, the teenager was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner. Glover was not injured in the collision.

Anyone who saw the juvenile-operated dirt bike or the Lancaster PD Dodge Durango police vehicle at or near the scene prior to the crash is asked to contact KSP Lt. Hunter Martin by phone (502-782-1847) or email ([email protected]).
