Fernley woman arrested for drug offenses and car theft

FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO) – A Fernley woman was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop on charges of weapons possession and auto theft.

On August 20, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Sparks Police Department requesting assistance in locating a stolen black Audi SUV driven by a certain Michelle Martian.

Police checked a residence in the 400 block of Fort Sutter Blvd in Fernley. The officer saw the garage of the residence partially open and a dark colored vehicle parked inside. The resident of the home immediately closed the door, but the officer could not positively identify the car as the stolen one.

Then, at approximately 2:20 p.m., an officer saw the stolen car traveling west on Newlands Drive, leaving Walmart. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop before the car stopped, accelerated, and fled into the Silverado Casino parking lot.

She then walked to the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel, where she finally stopped.

The officer then arrested the car's only occupant, Alyssa Holmes. A search of the car revealed 2.6 grams of meth, packaging material, and drug paraphernalia.

She was taken to the Lyon County Jail, where officers found another 26.7 grams of meth and a meth pipe in her groin area. Police say Martian has not yet been arrested.
