Woodstock police arrest two people after shooting

WOODSTOCK, Ill. (WIFR) – Two people from Woodstock are in court for an alleged attempted murder late Monday night.

Jason F. Spitzer, 39, is charged with attempted murder, dangerous use of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to traffic.

Lauren M. Sounde, 39, is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to resell.

Just before midnight on August 19, Woodstock police rushed to the 600 block of Park Street to investigate a “shots fired” call. Officers encountered the victim, who said his vehicle had been shot at. The victim was not injured, although police said the vehicle had bullet holes.

Detectives were able to identify Spitzer as a suspect and later searched a house where Spitzer and Sounde were arrested.

Both were taken to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility to await a court hearing. No court date has been announced at this time.
