The United States Postal Inspection Service announced Wednesday that two people were arrested in connection with the August 12 break-in at the Cornwall Post Office at 7 Boyd Street.

Postal Inspector Christiana Kasian said that mail was recovered during their investigation, but they have reason to believe that not all of the mail was recovered.

Customers should check that any items sent from Cornwall Post Office last weekend reached their intended recipient.

Anyone who believes their mail has been stolen can report it to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service online at uspis.gov or by calling 877-876-2455, which is available 24 hours a day.

Kasian said the federal investigation is still ongoing.

The post office was initially closed after the break-in was discovered on Monday, August 12, and reopened the following day.

Kasian previously told the Lebanon Daily News that the incident was a good reminder that anyone who observes anything suspicious or “shady” on or near a postal site or even around mail carriers, such as someone following a mail carrier, should call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455 and report it.
