Frederic Rogers murder trial continues with autopsies and witness testimony

DECATUR, Alabama (WAFF) – As the murder trial of Frederic Rogers continues, we are learning new details about the 2020 shooting in Valhermoso Springs that left seven people dead.

At the Morgan County Courthouse, jurors were shown autopsies of the victims, but for the first time, WAFF received background information on the beliefs of witnesses and investigators that led to this mass murder.

The first witness the jury heard was a state medical examiner, who said all of the victims died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The jury later also heard from Tiffany Lamb, who had briefly stayed in a house with members of the Seven Deadly, including Rogers and his alleged co-conspirator John Legg.

She testified that the shooting was sparked by pictures that Emily Payne, one of the victims, posted on social media from a birthday party.

There was also a dispute over stolen money and weapons.

She claims that Rogers actually came to her for advice on how to handle the situation.

Lamb testified that Rogers' original plan was to “kick the door down and get rid of the people.”

She claims she tried to dissuade her from this plan.

During cross-examination, the defense accused Lamb of being involved in the murders and of giving the killers a signal that the victims were there.

However, she denied this and claimed that it came from an imprisoned man connected to the Seven Deadly Sins.

Lamb insisted that she was a neutral party throughout the situation and even tried to warn the shooting victims before it was too late.

In the meantime, we also heard from an FBI agent who walked us through the process of conducting this investigation.

He said the Seven Deadly Sins were trying to make a name for themselves at the time and were involved in illegal activities in Morgan County.

His cross-examination will continue on Thursday morning.
