(ABC 6 News) – Residents said Wednesday they no longer felt safe after bullets ripped through the Falcon Landing apartment building Tuesday night. They say the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday night in building 873 of the complex, with most of the bullets hitting apartment 102.

Witnesses say they saw the suspects fleeing through the woods, but no arrests have been made. One resident said this is a common problem in this area of Rochester and she is not surprised it happened again.

“I've said it a hundred times, it's not the owners or the maintenance, it's the building, it's the neighborhood. I feel like it has a certain reputation,” said Sharon Fortner, a Falcon Landing resident.

The situation makes it difficult for those who simply want to raise their families in a safe place, and for people like Sharon who cannot afford to simply pack up and leave.

“I feel unsafe. You never know. There are children here. There are people like me, I'm disabled. There are people who are trying to live here and raise their families, and when something like this happens, it's scary. You never know if it's going to happen to you,” Fortner said.

According to Rochester Police, this was not an accident. No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. This story is ongoing. Stay with us on air and online as we continue to follow this story.
