San Francisco police search for homeless woman accused of terrorizing and threatening families for years

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — “I'm just amazed that we're still talking about it. That we're still dealing with it.”

Mother Jenna P. from San Francisco has had enough.

Jenna told me that she and her family had been subjected to threats for years from a homeless woman named “Lacey.”

Lacey reportedly threatened dozens of people in several San Francisco neighborhoods.

Jenna says she screams and chases people and their children through city parks, threatening to kill them and shouting other vicious attacks.

“It's scary to constantly feel like you're not safe on the sidewalk anymore. You're not safe in the park anymore,” Jenna said.

Jenna says these types of attacks first started occurring around 2020.

At that time, neighbors created flyers to hang in city parks to make people aware of the woman's actions.

Since then, neighbors have connected online to report incidents and share information about their whereabouts.

This includes Yelena Dunduchenko, who works as a nanny and has had terrible encounters with the woman herself.

“We are trying to help the nannies in the neighborhood, to warn them about their stay in our neighborhood,” Dunduchenko said.

The woman has been arrested several times over the years and there is currently another arrest warrant out for her.

Nevertheless, she is repeatedly released onto the streets.

“The police cannot force them to seek mental health treatment. This is a problem we see with many people in the city who are suffering from this,” said David Burke, a public safety liaison for the San Francisco Police Department.

A fact that frustrates many neighbors.

“If that's the case, then something has to change. I mean, then we have to do something differently. What do we have to do differently?” Jenna said.

Feeling trapped and not knowing where to go, their neighbors ask for help to solve the problem once and for all.

And not just for themselves and their families.

“She needs help. I mean, she used to be a productive member of society, doing her thing, and I would like to see that for her. I would like to see this become a success story,” Jenna said.
