Shooting in Chicago: Police report 2 injured in shooting on DuSable Lake Shore Drive at the Oak Street curve near Gold Coast

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Wednesday on DuSable Lake Shore Drive at the Oak Street curve near Gold Coast.

The shooting occurred around 9:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago police said.

Two victims, a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were shot while driving north on DLSD.

A light-colored sedan had stopped next to the victims' vehicle when an assailant shot at them, police said.

The man was shot in the head and taken to Northwestern Hospital. His condition was initially listed as critical. The woman was shot in the left calf and also taken to Northwestern Hospital, police said.

The perpetrators fled the scene in a limousine after the shooting, police said.

No one was arrested. The Chicago police investigation is ongoing.
