Man accused of shooting at Lincoln strip club faces trial

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – The man accused of shooting two people at a west Lincoln strip club is headed to court.

A judge on Wednesday found there was sufficient evidence to prosecute 32-year-old Christopher Johnson and remanded the case to district court.

Johnson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with a shooting at the Office Gentleman's Club near the corner of West Van Dorn and South Folsom Street.

Police said Johnson shot Carlos Silva and Terrell Jones outside the club early on the morning of May 25.

The victims were taken to a hospital where they died.

Johnson fled, police said, but was arrested three days later after a chase in Omaha.

If convicted, he faces the death penalty.

His arraignment in Lancaster County District Court is scheduled for September 18.

According to court documents, 32-year-old Darious Fletcher was with Johnson during the murders.

Fletcher is charged with two counts of aiding and abetting premeditated murder.

He is scheduled to appear in Lancaster District Court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
