Good Morning Britain's breaking news was interrupted this morning as Marverine Cole made a tragic announcement.

A fifth body has been recovered from the luxury yacht that sank off the coast of Sicily earlier this week.

Marverine told viewers: “Good morning, breaking news: A fifth body has been recovered from the wreckage of a luxury yacht that sank in a storm off the coast of Sicily on Monday.

“On Wednesday, five bodies were found inside the wreck, the last of which was recently brought to the surface.”

She then handed over to chief correspondent Richard Gaisford, who reported live from Porticello.

Fans rushed to social media to express their sadness at the latest news, with one saying: “Very sad!” and another adding: “I hope people are safe.”

Another agreed: “This is so sad,” and a third raged: “She has a name!”
