The teen, identified by her mother as 15-year-old Eva Goodman, was on an outing organized by a Detroit nonprofit on Tuesday, August 13, when she fell asleep. When Judge Kenneth J. King, a prominent Detroit judge, confronted her about the nap, he did not like her reaction and ordered her to be handcuffed and restrained in prison garb.

King has been expunged from his criminal record and will undergo “necessary training to address the underlying issues that led to this incident,” said 36th District Court Presiding Judge William McConico.

“Judge King has been temporarily relieved of his duty roster and will undergo the necessary training to address the underlying issues that led to this incident,” said 36th District Court Presiding Judge William C. McConico.
