30-year-old British tourist dies in Ayia Napa after tragic discovery in hotel on top Greek holiday island

A British tourist was mysteriously found dead in his hotel room in a holiday resort in Cyprus.

The 30-year-old holidaymaker, whose identity has not yet been established, was found unconscious in Ayia Napa after the police received an emergency call at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

He was taken to Famagusta General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to Cyprus Mail, local police ruled out foul play and state pathologist Aggeliki Papetta found no abnormalities in an autopsy.

As part of the investigation into the cause of death, samples from the traveler's body were sent to a laboratory.

Ayia Napa is known for its beaches and party atmosphere.

According to Tripadvisor, parties often start in the late afternoon and last all night.

It also attracts tourists who take cruises on its crystal blue waters.

The Foreign Ministry was asked for comment.

Earlier this week, a British teenager tragically fell from the sixth floor of a hotel in Ibiza and died.

The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after she fell “by accident”.

She fell at around 3 a.m. in a seafront hotel called Hotel Vibra District in the party resort of San Antonio.

Paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident, but were unable to save the holidaymaker due to the severity of her injuries.

She was the second British woman to fall to her death in the Balearic Islands within a few days.

On Saturday morning, a 28-year-old Briton died after a night of drinking in Mallorca when he fell from a height of five metres in a hotel in Palma Nova, near Magaluf.
