Fentanyl dealer from Stafford sentenced to ten years in prison

A Stafford man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday for possession of fentanyl with the intent to resell.

A press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Virginia states, according to court documents, that on October 2, 2023, the Stafford Sheriff's Office discovered a package containing 16,245 counterfeit blue oxycodone pills containing fentanyl and stamped “M30.” On October 17, 2023, agents executed a search warrant at the residence of 27-year-old Dwaine Tyrone Jones.

During the search of the apartment, officers seized approximately 20,240 blue M30 pills containing fentanyl, approximately 40.5 grams of cocaine, a scale, $47,770 in cash, half a pound of marijuana, and a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol. The total weight of the fentanyl pills was 2,137.04 grams.

Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Jarod Forget, special agent in charge of the Washington Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), made the announcement following sentencing by U.S. District Judge M. Hannah Lauck.
