Preliminary proceedings against employees of the former Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives

LANSING, Michigan (WILX) – An Ingham County judge will decide Thursday whether there is enough evidence to put two former domestic helpers on trial for embezzlement.

Anne and Robert Minard are accused of embezzling thousands of dollars while working for former House Speaker Lee Chatfield.

The Minards were charged with 13 crimes, including embezzlement and running a criminal organization.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said the conspiracy theorists allegedly embezzled $525,000 from several nonprofits and campaigns between 2018 and 2020.

During their arraignment in January, the Minards pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Your preliminary exam is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
