Man barricades himself after police-involved shooting in SC, official says

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An hours-long standoff continued in Chesterfield County Thursday morning.

South Carolina Law Enforcement was called to Pageland sometime Wednesday evening because a police officer was involved in the incident.

The gunman involved in the police-involved shooting then barricaded himself in a house on Sale Barn Lane, SLED spokeswoman Renée Wunderlich said.

SLED SWAT has been negotiating with the man throughout the night, and negotiations are ongoing.

Fortunately, no one was injured, said Wunderlich.

People are asked to avoid the intersection of Sale Barn Lane and Highway 9.

Our sister station in Charlotte, WBTV, reports that officers in Pageland were spotted at the High Point One Stop supermarket on Highway 9 on Wednesday evening.
