Suspects in downtown Milwaukee death plead not guilty to intentional homicide

MILWAUKEE – The four men charged in connection with the shooting death of D'Vontaye Mitchell outside a downtown Milwaukee hotel have pleaded not guilty.

Todd Erickson, Devin Johnson-Carson, Brandon Turner and Herbert Williamson all appeared in court simultaneously on Thursday. They are all charged with murder in connection with the death of Mitchell after he was held and injured by the accused former hotel employees outside the Hyatt Regency on June 30.

During the arraignment in court, bail for Erickson and Turner was reduced to $5,000 each. Johnson-Carson and Williamson had previously announced their bail amounts.

The charges followed a settlement reached earlier this week between the Hyatt Regency and attorneys for Mitchell's family.

All four suspects must appear in court again in October.
