Beyoncé threatens Trump with cease and desist order for use of song “Freedom”

Beyoncé is, as was to be expected, not with Donald Trump with the song “Freedom”, according to Rolling StoneThe star had given Harris' campaign permission to use the image for advertising purposes.

On Tuesday, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung released a video showing the former president getting off his plane while the song plays in the background.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the post remained up, although a source close to Beyoncé said: Rolling Stone the star is threatening to send a cease-and-desist letter over the use of the song. Harris had aired a campaign ad with the song in the opening minutes of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, just hours before Cheung added the song to this post. She had also walked onstage to the song to welcome the convention.

The Daily Beast has reached out to representatives for Beyoncé and Trump's campaign for comment.

Trump has had issues with his music throughout his presidential campaigns, and it's nothing new for him to upset musicians who don't want to be associated with him by using their music without permission. Just last week, the family of soul legend Isaac Hayes announced they would sue Trump for using his song “Hold On (I'm Coming)” at numerous rallies over the past three years.

Now, his campaign's efforts to troll Harris appear to have spurred the BeyHive.
