Deadpool & Wolverine: Hulk cameo released online

Check out Hulk's not-so-meager cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

50 years after his first appearance in the pages of The Incredible HulkWolverine vs. Hulk became a reality in the MCU. Now that the hit Deadpool and Wolverine is the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time – it grossed $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office in its first four weeks of release – and Marvel Studios features some of the film's most incredible cameos.

Below, you can see a new TV spot from Marvel Korea's official YouTube channel, featuring Mark Ruffalo's Hulk cameo, as well as spoiler-filled footage of the film's many guest stars, including the Human Torch (Chris Evans), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), X-23 (Dafne Keen), and Blade (Wesley Snipes).

“Classic John Byrne brown and tan. You fought the Hulk in that outfit, right?” a fourth-wall-breaking Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) asks a Logan variant (Hugh Jackman), interrupting an impending fight between the metal-clawed X-Man and the green Goliath.

The scene where the brown Wolverine costume, which debuted in the Chris Claremont-John Byrne classic, is seen for the first time in a live-action show Uncanny X-Men #139 in 1980 is also a tribute to the iconic cover by artist Todd McFarlane from 1987 Incredible Hulk #340. (In this issue, it is the gray-skinned Hulk who fights the brown-clad Wolvie in a violent Texas snowstorm.)

“Every now and then people tell me that there is something in a TV show or a movie – sometimes I am even a Danger! Question. You don't know it's coming, so it surprises you a little bit,” McFarlane told ComicBook exclusively about the homage. “You go, 'Okay, I had nothing to do with it, so I don't know.' I find that the neighbors get more excited, right? They're knocking on the door: 'Have you seen?' The Big Bang Theory last night? They mentioned you.' I'm bored with myself.”

Fans have seen the cover “a million times already,” McFarlane added. “But God bless Marvel. They want to keep the McFarlane fire going, keep going. Why am I still relevant 30 years later? That's odd to me, but thank you.”

Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine is currently only showing in cinemas.
