Iowa man is taken to Boone County to face child sex crimes charges

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

Authorities brought a 54-year-old Iowa man to Boone County this week to face allegations that he abused a child over about two years in Iowa and Missouri.

Fred L. Fox of Humeston, Iowa, was booked into the Boone County Jail on Wednesday. He is charged with child molestation, child enticement and sexual abuse of a child, all three counts of felonies.

The investigation began in April when a victim turned himself in to police. The heavily redacted probable cause statement did not indicate whether there was one victim or multiple victims. However, a parent of the victim(s) told investigators that Fox had been visiting the family since November 2022, staying between three and 14 days at a time.

Online court records show Fox was arrested in Iowa in May and charged in April.

Fox remained jailed without bail Thursday afternoon.
